It is often argued that senior executives receive disproportionately large salary increases compared to ordinary employees, a practice defended by employers as necessary in a highly competitive global market. I totally agree that such pay differences are justified because top-level managerial roles involve extraordinary responsibility (trách nhiệm vượt trội – responsibility far beyond normal duties) and require hard-earned expertise (chuyên môn tích lũy qua nhiều năm – skills gained through long-term effort).

To begin with, senior managers work under immense pressure (áp lực cực lớn – extremely high levels of stress) as they are the key decision-makers who determine a company’s success or failure. Unlike ordinary workers, these individuals are held accountable (chịu trách nhiệm trực tiếp – considered responsible) for strategic choices, financial performance, and long-term growth. They must constantly devise profit-driven strategies (xây dựng chiến lược hướng lợi nhuận – create plans aimed at maximizing profits) while responding to market fluctuations. Moreover, executives face job insecurity (sự bấp bênh nghề nghiệp – risk of losing one’s position), as a single poor decision can lead to dismissal. For instance, while a customer service employee handles specific inquiries, a branch manager oversees entire operations and is answerable if the branch underperforms. Given this high-stakes nature (tính chất rủi ro cao – involving serious consequences), higher pay is more than reasonable.>> Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR

In addition, occupying such positions requires years of hands-on experience (nhiều năm kinh nghiệm thực tế – practical experience accumulated over time) and often degrees from top-tier institutions (cơ sở đào tạo hàng đầu – highly prestigious universities), both of which demand significant investment. Furthermore, salary gaps create performance-based incentives (động lực dựa trên hiệu suất – motivation linked to achievement) for junior staff, encouraging ambition and productivity. If remuneration were identical regardless of responsibility, employees would lack the motivation to strive for promotion (động lực phấn đấu thăng tiến – desire to advance professionally), ultimately harming organizational efficiency.

In conclusion, higher salary increases for company directors are justified due to their immense responsibilities, specialized expertise, and the motivational effect such pay structures create.
