      • Supporting idea:

        • This can make it challenging for parents to re-enter the job market later, if they choose to or need to.
      • Example: In the United States, the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program offers financial aid to low-income families with children, but some recipients have shared concerns that their TANF benefits discourage employment due to the potential loss of assistance, potentially fostering dependency and diminishing motivation for other productive pursuits.
