People differ in their preference for long-term residence, with some choosing to remain in one location throughout their lives while others embrace frequent relocation. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I believe moving to different places offers more substantial benefits.

On the one hand, individuals who settle permanently in one area often do so because it provides a sense of stability (sự ổn định – the state of being steady and not changing) and belonging. Staying in a single neighbourhood allows them to build long-standing (lâu dài – existing for a long time) social networks and maintain close-knit (khăng khít – strongly connected) community ties. For many, this environment creates a predictable routine (thói quen dễ dự đoán – a pattern of behaviour that does not change) that offers emotional comfort. Moreover, living in one place eliminates the financial strain associated with regular relocation, such as moving costs or the need to adapt to new workplaces. As a result, a permanent residence becomes a secure anchor (điểm tựa an toàn – a stable support) that fosters a deep sense of identity and continuity.>> Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR

On the other hand, supporters of a more mobile lifestyle, myself included, argue that moving between different regions exposes people to a broader worldview (tầm nhìn rộng – a more comprehensive understanding of the world). Frequent relocation encourages individuals to develop cross-cultural competence (năng lực liên văn hóa – the ability to interact effectively with people from other cultures), which is highly valuable in an increasingly globalised society. Additionally, experiencing diverse living environments enhances adaptability and problem-solving skills, as people must continually adjust to new situations. This lifestyle also opens the door to fresh opportunities (cơ hội mới – new chances for progression), such as better career prospects or improved living conditions. Consequently, mobility can act as a powerful catalyst (chất xúc tác mạnh mẽ – something that causes change quickly) for personal and professional growth.

In my view, despite the comfort that long-term settlement offers, living in various places provides richer life experiences and equips people with skills that are indispensable in modern society.
