IELTS TUTOR gợi ý bài tham khảo:

In today’s knowledge-driven (adj: based on or emphasizing the importance of knowledge – dựa trên tri thức) society, some argue that information should be freely shared in areas such as science, business, and education, while others contend that certain data must remain confidential. Although both perspectives have merit, I personally side with the latter view.

On the one hand, advocates of open information sharing claim that cross-disciplinary (adj: involving more than one area of study – liên ngành) cooperation can accelerate development. In fact, the basic rationale (n: a reason or explanation for something – lý do, cơ sở hợp lý) for this notion is that when more individuals have access to information, research and commercial solutions will improve owing to (prep: because of – do, nhờ vào) frequent feedback. For instance, in the academic world, peer review (compound noun: the evaluation of work by others in the same field – đánh giá của đồng nghiệp) plays a vital role in verifying research reliability. Similarly, in scientific research, cross-disciplinary collaboration (compound noun: cooperation between different fields – hợp tác liên ngành) between researchers has often led to groundbreaking (adj: very new and innovative – đột phá) discoveries. Therefore, open exchange of data cultivates innovation and the collective advancement (n: progress achieved by a group – tiến bộ chung) of society.>> Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR

On the other hand, others maintain that some information is too sensitive or valuable to be shared without restriction, and I agree with this view. Firstly, to remain ahead of the competition and avoid patent conflicts, firms keep their proprietary (adj: relating to ownership or exclusive rights – độc quyền) algorithms and financial data confidential. As a matter of fact, sharing such knowledge could cost the organization a substantial (adj: large in amount or importance – đáng kể) loss and destroy its competitive edge (n: an advantage over competitors – lợi thế cạnh tranh). For example, in 2018, Facebook’s proprietary (adj: relating to ownership or exclusive rights – độc quyền) user data algorithms were leaked, and this resulted in a massive substantial (adj: large in amount or importance – đáng kể) financial loss and reputational damage. Secondly, many technological breakthroughs (compound noun: significant advancements in technology – đột phá công nghệ) or scientific discoveries require substantial investment of time and money. Without protection, there would be little incentive (n: motivation to act – động lực) for researchers or companies to innovate. For example, in the political sphere, the U.S. government has long protected research conducted by the Department of Defense and private contractors such as Lockheed Martin or Raytheon, whose innovations in areas like cybersecurity and military intelligence are kept secret to prevent other nations from copying their technologies. Such protection not only safeguards national interests but also ensures continued funding for future innovation.

In conclusion, while the free circulation (n: unrestricted movement or sharing – sự lưu thông tự do) of information fosters cooperation, I firmly believe that safeguarding critical knowledge is essential for maintaining innovation and economic stability.
