The process details designs of a modern landfill for household waste.

  • Construction: 
    • Đào một cái lỗ khổng lồ dưới lòng đất trên nền đá tự nhiên (natural rock)

    •  Lắp đặt ống thoát nước và bể thoát nước để loại bỏ chất thải độc hại ra từ đáy của bãi chôn lấp
  • Use: 
    • Chất thải sinh hoạt (household waste) sẽ được đổ vào.   • Closure:

• Như vậy phân bố bố cục có thể như sau:
  • Overall: 
    • The process involves drainage and disposal of various liquids and gases as well as basic storage of the waste itself hoặc đầy đủ hơn  
    • A typical landfill is a man-made hole dug on a solid, two-layer base, and the process involves drainage and disposal of various liquids and gases as well as basic storage of the waste itself
  • Body 1: Construction:

      • It is protected by double liners made of plastic and clay so that pollutants cannot enter into the surrounding ground and the aquifer. 
      • To finish the construction, at the bottom of the landfill, there is a drainage system consisting of drainage pipes and a tank.
  • Body 2: Use + Closure (vì nếu tách riêng 2 bước này sẽ làm một đoạn rất ngắn so với body 1)

    • (Hình 4) Once the landfill has been filled, it will be capped (covered) with layers of synthetic materials and clay to form a barrier between the waste and the surroundings. Its by–products including the liquid and gases are transferred through separate pipes to a proper treatment facility.
