  • Overall:
    • The percentage of households in rented accommodation was higher than that of those owning their own home while an opposite trend was observed over the final 30 years. (IELTS TUTOR gợi ý cách diễn đạt khác: residents often favoured renting over owning homes; however, with time, this pattern shifted as more people began choosing to buy houses rather than rent them)
  • Body 1: Viết về households in owned accommodation
    • Owned households had increased from 22% in 1918 to 50% till 1971.

  • Body 2: Viết về households in rented accommodation
    • In the beginning of period, almost 80% of the population were staying in rented houses.
    • This figure reduced to around 68% in 1939 and remained the same till 1953. 
    • This had further plunged to reach 50% in 1971.
