In many parts of the world, people differ in their preference between renting and purchasing their homes. While renting accommodation offers greater flexibility (n: the quality of being easily changed or adapted – tính linh hoạt) and less financial pressure, it also brings a sense of instability (n: the state of being likely to change or move suddenly – sự không ổn định) and lack of long-term security.

On the one hand, there are several advantages to renting a property. First, it provides financial relief (n: a reduction in money-related burdens – sự giảm gánh nặng tài chính) as tenants do not need to make a large down payment (n: an initial amount of money paid when something is bought – tiền đặt cọc ban đầu) or take out a mortgage. This allows individuals, especially young professionals, to enjoy a more carefree lifestyle (n: a way of living without worry – lối sống vô tư) and allocate their income to travel or education. Tenants often experience a lack of ownership (n: the state of not possessing something – sự không sở hữu) and cannot make permanent changes to the property. This may lead to a feeling of rootlessness (n: the state of having no permanent home – sự không ổn định, không có chỗ ở cố định). Additionally, in many cities, landlords may increase rent unexpectedly, placing financial strain on tenants. In contrast, homeowners can enjoy long-term stability (n: the state of remaining steady and secure over time – sự ổn định lâu dài) and even see their property value appreciate, which contributes to their wealth over time.

In conclusion, renting a house has both merits and downsides, offering convenience and mobility but at the expense of permanence and financial security.
