      • Example: A 2018 meta-analysis published in the journal "Criminology & Public Policy" by Laura DeLateur analyzed 60 studies on the impact of incarceration on recidivism. It found that spending time in prison is associated with a modestly higher chance of re-offending upon release.

        • They are poor, uneducated and lacking skills needed to maintain a job.

      • Example: A 2018 study published in the journal "Criminology & Public Policy" found a significant association between poverty and property crime. The study suggests that individuals with lower socioeconomic status are more likely to commit crimes, particularly property crimes, due to limited legitimate opportunities to meet their needs
  • Body 2: Trả lời câu hỏi 2 
    • Main idea 1: Implement a system for classifying inmates based on their level of risk and the nature of their offenses. 
      • Supporting idea: Keep violent and non-violent offenders, as well as first-time and repeat offenders, separate to minimize negative influences.
      • Example: The Federal Bureau of Prisons in the United States employs a classification system that segregates inmates into various security levels based on their likelihood of escape, propensity for violence, and disciplinary issues, taking into account the severity of their offenses. This approach ensures that violent offenders or those with a violent history are housed in higher security facilities with enhanced supervision, while non-violent offenders, particularly first-time offenders, are typically placed in lower security environments with greater access to rehabilitation programs and social interaction.
         
    • Main idea 2: prisons need vocational training which makes inmates to prepare (IELTS TUTOR gợi ý cách diễn đạt khác: Prisons should provide education or vocational training)
      • Supporting idea:

        • In this way, they can be hired for a position that requires this certain knowledge and skills.
      • Example: 
        • Community service is another way to reform offenders. 
        • Rather than being locked up in prison with other inmates, offenders can help society and become useful to their local community, and these activities would eliminate the negative influence that prisons can have.
